Flu Vaccination Appointments Now Available
Protect yourself this flu season! We are pleased to announce that flu vaccination appointments are now available at Fishergate Hill Surgery. Getting vaccinated is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your loved ones from the flu, especially as the colder months approach.
Who Should Get the Flu Vaccine?
The flu vaccine is recommended for:
- Adults aged 65 and over
- Pregnant women
- Individuals with certain medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, heart disease)
- Carers and frontline healthcare workers
- Those living in long-term residential care
- People with weakened immune systems
- All children aged 2 and 3 years (provided they were aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August before flu vaccinations starts in the autumn)
- All children in Primary School (your child will be vaccinated at school)
- Some secondary school-aged children (Years 7 to 11)
If you fall into one of these categories, it’s especially important to get your flu jab as soon as possible to reduce the risk of severe illness.
